Pcad's Cycling 101 for Freds. Lesson 4.

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

we will stop calling it a METRIC century, when you guys stop calling it ICE HOCKEY...it's frickin' HOCKEY, that's it...just HOCKEY, there are no other kinds that matter...no need to specify 'ICE' hockey...just Hockey.

and it has been almost half a 'century' since the Leafs won the cup.

Yes but arent 90% of the people of California from somewhere else? How can you build any real animosity to others if you have no roots ?

So it seems to me that only Burma, Liberia and the United States don't use the metric system...

Maybe us Canadian Freds are the ones who are right about this!!

I'll arrange a bike tour south across the "Big Lake" so you can visit the Stanley Cup in future years.

Yep, so I guess OP is right. There is no such thing as a "metric century"... There's only centuries and what the folks in Burma, Liberia, and the states occasionally do, 160.9 km rides.

Most rational people don't believe ice hockey matters in the first place, let alone field hockey. Why don't you just called in "professional Beating The Crap Out Of A Guy While Skating" and be done with it, rather than pretending it's a sport?

The fictional movie "Slapshot" has done a disservice to the sport and these boobs that believe hockey is always a brawl on ice.
Try viewing "Miracle on Ice" for a more reality movie.

"professional Beating The Crap Out Of A Guy While Skating Night in Canada"

nawww...doesn't work...lets stick to "Hockey Night in Canada".

by the way, did you know that last season, the new york mets, yes, baseball, had more bench clearing brawls than the ENTIRE national hockey league put together!

Don't even get us all started on whether baseball is a sport.
