2002 Giant OCR 3 Frame Size Question
I found a 2002 Giant OCR 3 for sale at a reasonable price and it's a large size. I researched the 2002 model and back then Giant had only S, M, L, not XL. Large which is around 55cm but I am 6"3 tall. In this case does the bike actually too small for me?
Yes I will go try it out next week if possible, but if you guys tell me 55cm L frame is too small for my height then I can probably give up the idea and save a trip.
Thanks

Pay no attention to the length of the seat tube, especially on a compact geometry frame. It's the top tube and head tube lengths that will determine if the bike fits. A large OCR has a 58.5 top tube and a 19.0 head tube, per the geometry chart: https://archive.giant-bicycles.com/us...&modelid=11330
I have fit riders of your height to 60 and 62 cm Treks and 61 cm Specialized road bikes, to give you an idea of the range of sizes that might work.
Giant also has a fitting guide to their compact frames on this page: https://archive.giant-bicycles.com/us...50.600.100.asp. According to this, you're at the upper limit for the large. And if your body proportions tend toward long limbs, and your flexibility and core strength are good, I'd even recommend the smaller frame. In any case, though, you might have to experiment with longer stems. An out-of-the-box fit is quite unlikely.

I would agree with oldbobcat. I am 6' even and ride that frame (it makes an awesome commuter). I feel like if I was 3" taller, I could probably put a longer stem on and be fine.

Fer the record, I'm just shy of 6' and a medium-large TCR with a 12 cm stem fits me like custom. That's a 57 cm top tube and 17 cm head tube.

the '02 OCR3 was my first bike, loved it. however at 5'10.5" I was riding a large and it was way too big. All my Giant road bikes after that were mediums and they fit like a glove. You may be right between a large and xl frame. But hard to say without seeing you on the bike. Good luck!

I am at the lower range of height at 5'6" and ride a 51cm conventional frame.
But in Giant- I fit an XS-an S and just onto M. According to the Giant Geometry chart- I should be top end of the S sizing and just into M. I have the feeling that Giant have the chart a bit on the small side. The XS is just a bit small in standard form- but the seat tube adjusted to height and I fitted a 100mm stem instead of the 80mm supplied. The S is fine but might shorten the stem.
Only way to check is to test ride but as 6'3" is just at the top of Giants quoted L sizing- I think it will fit. Just make certain you keep the seat tube within its limits

I have a Large '04 OCR3 and am 6' tall. While it fits OK, sometimes it feels like the top tube is a bit too long. I have the stem tilted up almost as far up as it will go in order to get the bars at about seat height, a smaller frame may have been better for me. This type of geometry may work better for someone of your height.

I think a large would fit you just fine with a 120 or 130 stem because i bought a large TCR frameset and it is a little to big for me and the Meduim large fit alot better. I have put it on Ebay and it is like new. here is a link to it https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:L:LCA:US:1123
