Main Goals, as always (these haven't changed for 15 years?):
1. Win Bethel Spring Series 2. Win CT Cat 3 Crit Gold Other goals for 2010: 1. Get leadouts 2. Give leadouts 3. Climb Palomar faster 4. Return to pre-1999 race weight (-23 lbs from avg race weight in 2009). Ideally return to 1997 weight, -34 lbs. Goals kinda sorta already met, or being fulfilled now: 1. Get custom geometry frame (ordered, half paid) 2. Revamp wheel collection (need to work out financials) 3. Lose a bunch of weight (currently at -17 to 20 lbs, give or take) Goals I really have to meet, due to obligations: 1. Promote Bethel Spring Series. 2. Help promote "Pedal For Paws", charity ride on Oct 2, 2010. 3. Give bike riding/racing tips at each team meeting I attend, 30 min presentation tops. 4. Hold 6+ week, 1 day per week, "how to ride" clinic (how to ride in a group comfortably). cdr |
Win or help a teammate win
Earn a couple Cat 2 upgrade points Do 40km in an hour Do Mt. Diablo in an hour Finally build up my bike swag slush fund to the point where I can finally afford that Zipp/Powertap wheelset |
1) avoid getting injured, since I don't have health insurance, or even accident insurance anymore :(
2) |
I want to drop one of the fast riders in my club.
Try a race or two. Try a brevet or two. No crashing. Quality over quantity. Follow a better training plan. No charity rides. Maybe one organized ride. More group rides. |
*Complete my first century as soon as the weather gets mild.
*Consistently reach 20mph average speeds on my weekday rides. *Learn to ride clipless. *Upgrade some parts on my road bike (bought my first roadie only 2 months ago). *Participate in some friendly race/groupride. If I can do all of these in 2010, I'll be a very happy man.:) |

Ummmmmmm ...
Normally I'd have a whole list of goals, but this coming year ....... ummmmm ..... Well, to start, I'd like to do a century (100 miles) in less than 10 hours!! I know, to some of you 10 hours may seem like a really long time in which to do a century ... but when you're in recovery and rebuild mode 10 hours is a brisk century!! Rowan and I did one a couple weeks ago that took us 11 hours ... so I'd like to break the 10 hour mark. Audax Australia has a series of awards to hand out for various accomplishments so I'd also like to complete the Noveau Randonneur award which means riding 1x50 km, 1x100 km, and 1x150 km brevets (organized and official rides). I've got a 100 km under my belt so far (completed on November 14th - the Audax/Randonneuring season starts on November 1) so I need to complete the rest. I'd like to build up to a 1000K by about September, but we'll see what happens. |

You have already accomplished this and 2010 doesn't start for three weeks. Well done.

Ride in at least two centuries
Ride ~100 miles a week Hang with the sprint in the group ride Much like the OP, do a birthday ride. The Tour de Leaves is what I'm leaning towards Prepare for my first race in 2011 |
Goals for 2010....
Since I just started riding this past August, these may seem rather weak to some of the others posted here, but here goes....
That's all I can think of at the moment...... |
Since we're getting closer to 2010 ... bump ...
