Gee, was today a day. Don't have to go to work until an hour later than usual, so I get up at regular time (3AM) to tack an extra 20 mile to my ride and make it a total of 60 miles. Sit in the can and nothing. Get dressed, get bike ready, and as I am out the door now I "need to go". Take everything off again, go to work on it, success, get dressed again, and out the door. The sky is clear as it gets, a billion stars in the sky, 68 degrees, the sound of waves in the background, and no wind. Simply beautiful!!! 2 miles down the road my rear tire flats! I tried to see if it would get fixed with just Vittoria PitStop (tubular). The stuff sprays all over the place as the tire has a gash on the side. I am on a very dark area, but there is a light pole 200 yards away, so I decide to ride to it. 10 feet later the front tire blows! I said F' it, so took my shoes off and decided to just walk home. 10 minutes into the walk back home, it starts to rain. A down pour like I haven't seen in a while, but it occurs to me the sky was clear a minute ago. I look up and can't see any clouds, yet the water is just relentless. 20 min later, it looks like it is stopping, but I notice the ground is completely dry ahead of me? It was just raining in a very small section where I was walking though!! If it had not happened to me, I would not have believed anyone telling me about it. Sometimes it simply is not meant to be. Fixing tires here in a minute, so I'll ride in the morning.
Wow. That could be the opening scene to a great comedy. |

Woah, I think you are a doctor and probably are used to strange times, but 3am is regular? Yikes, when do you go to bed? Hope tomorrow works out better:) |
