Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

i can totally understand what your saying.
just know im smart enough to never buy it new for that price
garage sale for 15 bucks! anywho i plan on changing everything on it like you said and it turns out to be way cheaper than the bike i wanted.
im cycling for fun, exercise. im not looking to race or time trials and what not. if im judged for the bike i ride then thats typical of the world today.
at school ive been judged by the car im driving so im used to it.(not the reason im getting a new car haha) i agree its a cheap bike definietly not worth anything
but it works for me and have put 150 miles on it since i got it. i have champagne taste on a beer budget! so i gotta work with what i have.

Not worth it. Spend the money on a used bike.

This was my point, sorry I rambled.

for the 400-500 (Not including wheels and this is BAR MINIMUM) it will cost you to upgrade, just buy a nicer bike.

Those handlebars are cut in half, from what I recall, and spliced back... maybe under the stem bolts?

I wouldn't sprint on that thing.

Gotta love those 28 Footers. You don't need a captains license but you might need your CDL for that thing.
