will 11-23 cassette help?
good day all ...
i'm riding a 2004 tourmalet, with the triple front and 12-25 rear. i can fairly easily out crank the 52/12 combo on any moderate downhill. in my quest for speed, would moving to a 11-23 cassette help very much?

In a word: yes.
If you don't spend a huge amount of time in your 25, it makes sense to move up. Make sure you can do your hardest climbs safely and healthily in your 52-23 combo.

Agree; get the 11.
You'll need a smaller lockring if one doesn't come with the new cassette.
Do you have 9 speed?
If you don't use the 23 much, you might even wanna get an 11 to 21, which is awesome
becasue there's no "gaps" where you need no gaps: 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 19 21.
I still have 8 speed, with 11 to 21, which means I had to ditch the 16, which is a cog
I would like to have. Obviously, to solve my problem I should simply get 9 speed levers, etc, but$$$$

Some people, including me, don't like "spinning out" on a 12 tooth cog, so it's great to have the 11 to get the revs under 100 at certain speeds.
If you want the whole spiel on rpms at particular speeds, let me know, and I'll deliver
