Tell me about it, eh? I wound up in fashion & apparel, first wash development (think denim washes, wrinkle free treatments, garment wash downs, etc) and ultimately into fabric. Fashion let's me be as "me" as I like (within reason) and fabric gives me a steady enough schedule to continue to do my side things... so it's all good! Yay chemistry, eh?

I had just an undergraduate ACS program. My experience is in QC and metrology work. I did a little process work but not enough to make me remotely an expert. I worked from small pharma to biotech to food and beverage. I've done some synthesis work but very little, mostly an analytical chemist. FDA stuff is too stifling so I went with my first love, teaching. I'm just not going to be rich and I have to rely on a lot of used bike parts to get what I want.
FlatSix911....great cars. I wanted an 87-89 but I couldn't quite afford it. Gotta love those cars and the track events.

I was focusing on Organic Chemistry (the reason I left pre-med to full-chem), but it was just a BS in Chemistry, so you do a little bit of everything. Was married so I took a job that was available in apparel, then when I graduated, was offered a promotion and more money then starting off in a lab or whatever, so I stuck with it. It's fun, certainly interesting, and definitely unique anyway! How many woven fabric experts do you know, right?
But yeah, Organic Chemistry man.... I was king! lol.

But your assumption isn't too far off...at the company that I work for, most of my internal clients are from our IT organization. I've always been into computers/technology (almost did go into engineering, actually), so I can generally follow what my IT clients are talking about, and can explain our legal needs/requirements in terms they can understand.

Same here I have been in Computer and Technology too... I work as IT and system and hardware analyzer while getting my BS in Environmental Engineering.

Studio Art major. Art History minor. BS, C. Laude, NYU, 1980.
Sounds impressive, but in the late 70's, EVERY time I told somebody I went to NYU, they'd nod knowingly and reply, 'Oh, City College?'
Ummm........no.
Now it's a hot 'A-list' college everybody's dying to get into.

I have changed my mind several times and finally decided I needed to major in something and stick with it, so I'm in my 5th year as an Urban Studies major.
