Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

decent set of cheap wheels

I am looking to have a 2nd set of wheels to have on hand for whatever reason. Can anyone recommend a set that runs between $100-$225. I have looked at all the usual sites and it gets a bit much without some actual feedback.

Currently I have vuelta xrp Pros on my bike they are a bit heavy probably by most standards but true and in great shape after 1500 miles. I am thinking of upgrading a bit but I could also go with something similar for a great price.

Also, by spending some more money how much lighter and better off would I be? I could go better but if they are light and need attention all the time is it worth the trouble?

These are good wheels. I have 10,000 miles on mine. No Problems.

I've ridden on Mavic Aksiums and Shimano WH-R500s which are around your price range. They were both pretty decent and I never had any problems with them going out of true.

I had a set of those for 2 years and they treated me well. If I ever need another set of training wheels I'll buy another set.
