Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The answer is simple and formed in the shape of a question...

Do you love the frame and fork? Are you comfortable? Does it fit you well? Do you see yourself on this frame five years from now?

Very good point. This is an okay frame, and better components will help some. I suggest you keep the components you have and spend the money instead on a good set of wheels. For what you are about to pay for a new group you can get great wheels. This will get you better improvement that a new group, and you can use the wheels on a new bike/frame later on!

yes, yes, yes and maybe for the moment i figured most races held in the states are crits and usually flats so im thinking of converting all of my trple components to doubles and putting the old parts on my cycle cross bike. i say maybe to the having the bike for longer than a couple years because i might decide to buy a new bike when skill and most importantly money rises

Don't know much about them - can't express an educated opinion...have heard they are decent wheels..

I agree with Tbick as well; I would instead spend the money to buy a good set of wheels; then when components start to fail you could upgrade to 105 as they fail. I think 105 is just almost as good as Ultegra if not as good except for the finish. If you were to go to Ultegra you might as well go to Dura Ace. I know a lot of guys racing on 105.
