I'm 6'4" and between 205 and 210 most days as of late.

The last time I got into cycling I got down to 167lbs and my mom didn't recognize me when I came home for spring break... (about 20 years ago). I'm thinking I'll do this to her again for Christmas.

... and yes, you will all be effed.

Between work, laziness, and closure of my normal after work ride roads, that was the first time I've been on the bike in a week and a half. Hill repeats, which hurt, which now feels good.

Inspiring. Friend of mine had stones. It was brutal watching him go through that. He had a horrible diet, a sedentary lifestyle, and was as soft as a baby.

I'm actually kind of lucky in that the kind I have are calcium stones. They are not that bad to pass, and actually, it only ever hurts me when they move around in the kidneys, not the exiting part. Some people get stones that have spikes or odd shapes, and they can be nasty. Calcium stones are one of the kind that are easy to regulate, it's mostly a salt issue, and some calcium rich foods. All of which I love.

That reminds me. It's chip sealing season, and man, are they going to town around me.

Hey Pcad - do you covet the Sidi Ergo 2? Road bike action says it is the most coveted shoe.

100* with "blazing sunshine" does not sound good.

My mistake, I haven't been keeping up to date with what shoes you wear.

Don't post again until you've done the homework.

I have to figure out how to get two big suitcases, my bike, and a spare wheelset in the back of a Honda CR-V for our trip.. I think I'll lay down the suitcases, and then take out the front wheel and put the bike on top of them laying down. Wheels.. don't know yet.

Interesting . . . that's almost 10 degrees warmer than here.

What's the problem?

LAJ 07-02-10 07:28 PM

I am keeping up with this weight deal. Up in Washington State with huge amounts of oxygen compared to where I am from. Riding a lot each day, and eating little.

patentcad 07-02-10 07:31 PM

The fascinating thing to me is that the pros I've met and ridden with, male and female, are considerably less full of themselves than half of the idiots in the 33. I mean, it really is rather astonishing at times. It does make you wonder if they will ever get over themselves and realize that the rest of the world thinks they are a bunch of silly looking bike weenies who would make perfectly good roadkill.

Anyway, steer clear of that place. Whatever Fred stupidity one may encounter over here is really far less aggravating than the rampant arrogance and hubris of the Road Nazi boys. Ooofaaaa.

"Blazing sunshine" does not go well with my red hair and blue eyes. Might as well say "skin cancer day".

Isn't it possible to be bi. You know, go both ways?

Speaking of idiocy, $529.99 for shoes.

Why?
I have one pair (the famed PBK special) and they are plenty.

Someone should make a "show your shoes thread!"

heckler 07-02-10 08:12 PM

So he can color coordinate with his pink outfits.
