That next page that is there that I can't go to is so annoying.

I'm waiting for it to come in.

Do you "know" this place? Like, do they have a certain kind of rider appreciation, are they with it, etc.

We have one shop that sells all kinds of bikes and treats everyone the same, but it's not a race shop. We have another that seems to cater to the higher end, and is obvious about it. It amazes me how differently people are treated in these stores, and especially in the high end store if you are viewed as not a serious rider.

They do everything. Beach cruisers -> Tri bikes. They're a new Cervelo dealer. They also have FELT, Giant, etc. I've followed up with them enough that they know I'm waiting on the bike.

Well, he has no $$ for bike stuff = no $$ for beer bribes. That leaves short shorts.:twitchy:

So you have not paid?

Perhaps you should express some concern about their response and how it may relate to their support after the sale. A $5k bike should come with some sort of long term maintenance or at least a good bottle of wine.

Well, if they ordered it, what do you expect the shop to do while it's still in transit?

Well, my guess is that they do blanket orders, and that they are giving you target dates, hoping one will come in.

I haven't paid, but it's been ordered specifically for me, if that makes sense.

I like the way you phrased that. I'll check in on them again.

For $5k in the current economy... a back rub, leg massage and perhaps a rental car.

It's not that. Here's the timelime.

Two Sundays ago: we don't have a 48. When they open Monday, we'll call and order one. I'll call you first thing in the morning to let you know.
Monday: No call. I call them. We'll call you right back. No call.
Tuesday: I call them. "I think it was ordered. I'll check and call you back in 15 minutes." 5 hours later, he returns call to ask what size I need. 48. Okay, he'll order it and let me know anticipated arrival date, "my guess is it will be here Friday"
Wednesday: No call for confirmation of order. I call. Yes, we did order it, it will be here Friday. Sweet!
Friday: No call. I call them. "Well UPS has already left. Let me check with Cervelo and call you back." Return call, "ohh, Cervelo just ordered it yesterday. It will be here Wednesday I think."

Once this new bike frenzy fades you'll be gone, just like Holly, Brandy and all the other BF Babes. Then it will be back to the Addiction Circle Jerk.

What happens if you don't like it? Change your signature to something else?

That does sound lazy on their part. You probably would have gotten better response in the ordering process if you were there in person rather than calling on the phone.

At any rate, be glad you don't have to wait three months for a bike, like I did.

Holly popped in last week.

I had gone in person on Sunday and Monday as well. Sunday to look at bikes and Monday to try out a 51. It's just been a pain having to keep following up. 3 months would make me insane.

Is Holly a babe? Is there a picture to prove it?

A lot of chatter about a bike you've never ridden and might not buy.

300 posts later, the Cervelo Kool-Aid isn't for everyone.

Oh God, 3 months of Jen mood swings? Even the Geico lizard is saying no way.

Some of you guys act like dropouts living in their parent's basement whenever a female cyclist is around.

Of course, some of you are dropouts living in their parent's basement.

Luckily for me, I'm confused, so I treat everyone the same.:p
