Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

RODE.

"Road" is what cars, trucks, buses and bikes use to get around town. "Rode" is the past tense of "to ride".

grumble grumble goddamned spellcheck is going to be the end of the written word grumble mumble...

Actually people do care. But then those folks get into flame wars with those that don't care. It's like politics and religion - a lot of times it's easier to let it slide. However, unlike politics/religion, grammar/definitions usually have a right and wrong that is pretty clear cut. It only reflects poorly on the one that makes the error. I know I make errors too but I try to avoid them, and when I do make an error, I try to learn from it.

Anywho... I did some Ze intervals because I only had an hour to ride. They're my new favorite short workout workout. I'd have liked to stretch it out to 2 - 2.5 hours but not tonight.

And yeah, feel free to crucify me here if I have a typo in my post.

Monday I did legs in the gym, yesterday was 35 miles tempo with a hard climb at the end. Today I meant to do 45min on rollers but I ended up just going for a massage.

I live right in the middle of the area in the mid-Atlantic region that has been POUNDED by winter this year, so I'm on my trainer about 5 times a week. Tonight was just an easy hour, in a high-aerobic zone. Hoping to get outdoors tomorrow.

For some variety, check these out:

55min session @ 5:30am - 3x5' intervals, followed by isolated leg drills, then 3 high cadence drills and I was done.

Rode on my trainer this morning, on an empty stomach (although I'm starting to like the empty stomach trainer sessions). Just did 45 minutes, some longer intervals in there and some out-of-the-saddle intervals towards the end. Made for a sore evening at work...

Just finished my workout and got out of the shower. I did about an hour and a half of strong riding while watching star warsT attack of the clones and listening to my headphones. Today was suppose to be a recovery ride but I found myself drifting off into lolla land and when I got back I realized I was sprinting to fast tempo music. Its funny how music can influence a workout.

If you don't care to learn how to spell then why do you use a communications medium that requires writing?

I don't bother calling people out on spelling mistakes, I just judge them silently.

Definitely hitting the trainer tonight for a couple hours. Can't say I'm especially excited about it though.

Rollers last 2 nights. I could have ridden outside, but temps were dropping quick and there were good events to watch on the Olympics last night.

Tues - 1.5 hours, slow recovery ride for very sore legs

Wed - 1 hour, 20x2 right around FTP

Upon further consideration I withdraw my objections over the "41 Twitter Feed" thread.
I think it's a perfect respoistory for dumb ass threads like this.
And when the warm weather comes we can all let each other know that we road outside today.

i quite like riding the trainer. it really does seem harder than riding on the road and when i get out on the road i can really feel the benefits of trainer time.

rode both friday and Saturday..... hit the trainer on Tuesday, and will again tonight.... If I had any stones about me I would take off work and go ride... it is in the high 30's low 40 today.... with snow n the forecast... again... tomorrow. I am just to busy to take off of work right now... It really stinks!

It can be harder.
If you're doing it right.
