I love the fact that they are 99 cents for 23 oz - perfect amount for a large water bottle and easy on the budget. THey are available at most convenience stores. Easy on the stomach and good variety of flavors. Finally, the cans fit perfectly in a cage if you want to take one with you. My favorite is the arnold palmer lite.
I think the arizona tea was invented for cyclists thinking about all the advantages!
No more gatorade for me - it reminds me of liquid jello.

I like a variety, but tea is a good idea, esp warm tea this time of year.
I once drank SOBE POWER for awhile before an intense 2 hr ride or race, and liked that for teh pep , and increased power I felt from creatine and taurine, but my brother turned me off from it claiming its key ingredient being derived from Bull Testes

I'm anti all the sugar in those types of drinks.

This thread is just screaming for my introduction.
Hi, im Dan and im a dewaholic
HFCS, in its many forms, has done me right over the years. Granted i weight 250lbs at 6' but i attribute that to my mostly sedentary life style AND the copious quantities of HFCS i have in-took since my time in the USAF (5 years out). You know what they say "moderation in all things".....but THEY say a lot of things.

I should have clarified my original post. I dont start with the AT at the beginning, but resort to it during a ride. 30-40 mi into a ride and far from home its a good solution. Im not so cheap that Ill carry around powder in my jersey. Im talking about the situations of "Ive got to stop and refuel or Ill bonk" situations.

the lower sugar Arizonas are delicious, like the Arnold Palmers, Green Tea, Black & White (which has become impossible to find the past year!), even if they all have Splenda to make up for the lack of sugar. The "regular" iced teas are loaded with sugar and are far too sweet. I stopped drinking them daily (along with regular soda) a while ago and feel much better for it, but I probably have one once or twice a week.
There's a new brand called Peace Tea that looks exactly like Arizona cans (I thought it was for a while) that's the same can/price with no HFCS but instead uses sugar and sucralose; they're not bad but not great, but good for all you anti HFCS people (which, by the way, what is the big argument against that again?)

green tea for me, although the Palmer light is really good. its more water... unlike the gallon of Arizona, i had that once on a ride and almost threw up half way through its much more concentrated.
is peace tea like honest tea? if it is then it tastes like goats urine.

I get loose green tea and make a pitcher unsweetened and put that in my bottle for cycling or running. Sometimes I will dilute it with more water, if I want a little sweetness or energy I add a Tbl. d-ribose powder to a bottle.

not sure what HCFS is, or what those letters stand for, but I'm assuming its something in the drinks that's bad for you. I used to drink several Mt. Dews per day, and by several I mean 4-5. Since May of 2009 I haven't had a soft drink at all.
I drink Cytomax riding. I help eliminate the "burn" in my legs when I'm pedaling hard. I don' t have a recover drink. does anyone out there have a "recovery drink" that they like?
**edit
now at home and work I drink tons of green tea every day. Only the home brewed from tea bag, then sweetened and chilled. It's really good for you, I use a non-sugar sweetner, so its low in calories, and I've lost 35 lbs. I have to give the green tea, no pop, and lots of riding (as well as major dietary changes) for most of that.
