Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

There is some music that has made me stop what I am doing and only listen to the music, at least the first few times I heard it. But most music I would say is only the quality level of background wallpaper. Usually if I go to the trouble to buy music I will listen to it in its entirety without distrations (i.e. not while surfing bikeforums).

But when I ride I don't listen to that kind of music, so it's not a problem. I don't know your music so I don't know whether it is wallpaper or not.

Also I'd probably only ride with 1 earbud in so I can hear the other riders coming and will be purchasing a mirror sooner than later.
On a muni bike path, it's not the joggers, baby strollers, strolling seniors and kids playing hopscotch you have to worry about. It's the dooshes who get a paceline whipping thru among the joggers, baby strollers, strolling seniors and kids playing hopscotch.

Unfortunately, many people create music about as well as many people ride their bikes. Either one is just kinda sad, but combine the two? Now THAT is a special kind of scary!
