Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pbk?

I have seen ProBikeKit(.com) reference several times on various posts... I am considering ordering a Campy wheelset from them and was wondering about any experiences anyone has had with them, good or bad? Thanks

Always good, 5+ orders. Got some bad tubes once, but they were cheap so whatever.

Great. >5 orders as well, haven't had any issues with them yet.

[edit] Shipping from UK (where they ship out of) to East Coast (NC) is about 5 business days.

I ordered a set of Mavic wheels from them. I got an outstanding price, and received them in about a week. (I live in Pennsylvania.)

Always under a week, can be as little as four days depending on the exact day of the week your order goes in. I don't know how they do it.

good service. be forwarned though, last set of fulcrum wheels i ordered from them got hit with import taxes at the post office. the savings on the wheels wayyy more than made up for it, but just know, its a possibility.

PBK?? What's that? Never heard of it.

Seriously, except for a snafu with credit cards about 6 months ago that probably wasn't even PBK's fault, the consensus is they are very good. Use the coupon code usa15 for an extra 15% discount. I have ordered from them several times with no problems.

I say go for it.

Overall very good. Out of probably 10 orders I've made to PBK, they've only botched 1 (sent me the wrong item). I'll never buy tires local again.

Ordered a set of Look Quartz pedals from Bikesomewhere.com. They were backordered and didn't bother to tell me, so after 2 weeks I canceled that order. PBK has them at a ridiculously good price, and they shipped on the 24th of Feb. to the great state of Massachusetts. March 6 and still not here yet

i bought a set of pedals from them for about 40% less than the performance/nashbar prices and was shocked at how fast they made it to the midwestern US

The Promo code was in Bicycling Magazine. I've ordered from PBK MANY MANY times, they are awesome. If you're doing a larger order then you may want to check out some of the other UK sellers (like Chain Reaction) who usually charge shipping, but may waive it (or it becomes insignificant) on larger orders. PBK is just amazing though, my only complaint is that they sell out TOO QUICKLY!

Pedals arrived today. Retail box was crushed due to being in a plastic envelope, but the pedals are in perfect shape. Would I order again? From all the other accounts it appears the shipping time for me was a bit of a fluke. I'd give them another chance.
