Dura Ace wheelset / Tire problems
So my new bike came with a set of dura-ace carbon wheels, and I went to put a pair of 23c Michelin 3000's on them, and for the life of me, I can't get them on! What gives?? I snapped 4 tire irons last night trying to get them on. Anybody know why they won't fit?

I heard that throwing them in the dryer for a few minutes, heats them up and makes them easier to put on.

Had the same problem with some Hutchinson tires ended up being a 2 person job, had the other person hold the tire bead in place so I could seat the last part and reverse the tire lever to help seat the bead.

never heard of michelin 3000, but soap and water, or talcum powder.
or step on your rim while you try and get the last bit over the top.

Also, Pro3s, which I think is what you mean, have a really tight fit, and if that is one of those tubeless ready Shimano wheels, the bead may be extra tight as well. Which = a really hard tire and rim combo. Just so you know you're not (necessarily) a weakling .

Yeah, sorry, I meant pro race 3's. And yes, it's the tubeless ready wheels. I'm gonna give the tires in the dryer method a try tonight and see how that goes before trying the soap & water.

When you're trying to squeeze that last tire bead over the rim, make sure the tire bead on the opposite side of the wheel is in the deepest section of the rim. So, push the tire inward at the opposite side and then you should be able to pull the bead over the rim another millimeter or 2.
