Ksyrium elite wheel problem
One of the spokes on the rear wheel of my ksyrium elites (2003 model) keeps loosening about every 200 miles or so. I also noticed, and suspect as the root cause, that the grommet/eyelet the spoke nipple threads into is also loosening or pulling through the rim. I can't tell if the grommet is "unthreading" or if it is pulling through the rim. The rim is very slightly puckered around where the grommet threads into the rim.
Is my rim in need of replacement? Is there anything I can do, like apply thread-locking compound, to keep the grommet threaded tightly? Anyone else experience this with Mavic wheels?
