Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I am really attracted to the Felt 2010 B2 Pro.
I would also like a custom paint job of an Orbea Orca
the Pinarello Dogma that team Sky rides are nice as well.

I don't think I'm gonna really notice performance differences on the high end frames. So, for me, my dream frame has to be beautiful.

I'm usually either picturing a custom steel frame (indy fabs or waterford, that new stainless stuff sounds nice), or a select few carbon frames. I usually like the look of De Rosa frames and Colnago.

Fuji SST 1.0

Its not a boutique custom euro anything.

But it does have press in BB, internal cable routing, tapered steerer tube and integ seat tube and assymmetric chainstays. Pretty much every single frame innovation of the last 5 years.

And I can actually afford it by the end of the year...

Ever since I saw a most awesome Merckx in fat Columbus with ovalised lugs on the down tube, I've hankered after one... but on visiting the Merckx site, I see they've apparently eschewed steel! Ye Gods.

Prolly the ultimate machine I can think of were twenty Litespeed Blades built for an American team (the name escapes me; they had green and yellow livery) about ten years ago out of 6Al4V sheet.
Those frames were worth something like US$20k a pop.

But I'd be stoked with a TCR or something.

can this frame be used for a road bike ? or would that be a bad idea ?
bad idea...

I like the white Time up there... with sram and edge 1.25 tubs. thats the stuff...

Or a custom lugged steel with a rough sandblasted black finish like this

Am I the only one who thinks that Pinarellos are ugly as hell? I used to really like them but now I just think the bent fork and seat stays are awful.

I am right there with you. They would look allot better without that wavy crap. Especially the yellow and red one above. It looks like something Ronald McDonald would ride.

There are a few frames that I have a whole lot of admiration for, but my days of dreaming about them are over. In fact I've just bought my first production roadbike (Spec. Roubaix Comp) since high school (Schwinn Super Sport), but will replace it this summer with an SL3. And that ain't no dream.

Ooh, fantasy football? I'll play. W/ lottery money I'd order:

- Kirk Frameworks fillet-brazed w/ Terraplane seatstays
- Crumpton SL Road
- Parlee Z1
- Moots Vamoots w/ S&S couplers
- Spectrum custom w/ clearance & braze-ons for full fenders
- VeloKraft NoCom (technically not a frame, but a full-on zooty low racer 'bent)
- I'd send my Bridgestone 600 to Joe Bell for refurb/repaint
- I'd bribe eRichie to push my name from wherever it is now to the front of the queue

and just to prove that I am 100% self-indulgent and destined to blow through my lottery winnings within months

- BMC TT01 Time Machine. With Di2 & Lightweight Obermayers, naturally.

I used to like Tarmac SL. But then I realized it's just a marketing scam (we're currently at SL3, I guess SL4 will be next with uhn 20r carbon or some such).

So I dont actually have a dream frame. But funnily enough, I rather like a pedal force rs2 from the pics and reviews I've read. Moots and Vanilla and the other custom stuff? Mmmh while I appreciate other people like them and consider the qualities in such a frame to be good stuff, to me, most bike over a couple of grand still look like a bunch of metal (or carbon or...) tubes welded beautifully together.

Ok, ignore what I said above. That SL3 and Moots are actually very nice. I still wouldn't consider them to be my dream frames. I dont think I actually have a dream frame.

Moots does nothing for me......I'd rather have an Eriksen or Baum......just have never gotten the Moots thing.
