It's not a remote, remotes are wireless.
Besides that, it's just Di2. Whether the shifter controls are actually in/on the hoods or on the flats or whatever doesn't really matter. I'd love to ride Di2 once though, see what it performs like...

Not sure of your age but, there were wired remotes long before there were wireless remotes. That said, I had a chance to ride Di2 a while back and found it pleasant to use, won't be an early adopter due to cost though.

You might consider the downtube shifter as being a wired remote versus reaching back and manipulating levers on the earliest derailleurs.
Soon the electronic wireless remote derailleur shifter will be held by the directeur sportif back in the car and he will decide when to change gears.

I'm curious about this remote shifting. Are the controls for the FD like the pic too? If they can be freely mounted i different location I might finally leave Campy.
(A motorcycle accident has me riding 1 handed and though I have an effective way to mount a FD shifter on the right side of the bars I'm always looking for "upgrades.")

I'm not deleting my doubles anymore. They're just going to have to fix this. Sorry.

If they were wireless, A team mechanic could have some fun with that. especially in a team time trial.

no. before radio control was the norm, remote control cars had cables coming out of them. I also had a cable box where the remote was attached to the box by a cord. I'm not even that old... i think.

re·mote
1.far apart; far distant in space; situated at some distance away: the remote jungles of Brazil.
2.out-of-the-way; secluded: a remote village; a remote mountaintop.
3.distant in time: remote antiquity.
4.distant in relationship or connection: a remote ancestor.
5.operating or controlled from a distance, as by remote control: a remote telephone answering machine.
6.far off; abstracted; removed: principles remote from actions.
7.not direct, primary, or proximate; not directly involved or influential: the remote causes of the war.
8.slight or faint; unlikely: not the remotest idea; a remote chance.
9.reserved and distant in manner; aloof; not warmly cordial.
Wired or wireless, as long as it can be controlled from a distance (of even an inch away!) is a remote. Problem solved. Case closed.

But I would think you could work out something with the "bar con" shifter deisgned for TT use: https://bike.shimano.com/publish/cont..._for_time.html

No, it's a(nother) system glitch. Seems to affect mods the most but random members as well.

everytime i post i get the "this is a duplicate post of one you made in the last 30 seconds" I'm guessing the mods don't have that restriction so every time you make a post, it just makes them both. the error is annoying enough, so i could imagine your frustration.
