Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Saturdays ride got rained out so had to double up today to reach 200 miles for the week.
So saw United Healthcare out training, was cool to see a team on tv out riding
Ha! Was wondering why the mega ride, amazing how the weekly goal on Strava can impact your rides

After a few weeks of crazy travel and just swimming (when I could), I'm back and trying to get back to riding. It was kind of nice having some time away after el Tour though

last Thurs: https://app.strava.com/activities/32269199 (only 22 miles, it was crazy windy and I had to adjust my route)
Sunday: https://app.strava.com/activities/32681681 (really felt it, especially the last ~10 miles. 60 may have been a bit ambitious at that point)
today: https://app.strava.com/activities/32973539 (not quite where I want to be, but could be worse)

think I'm gonna sign up for the Casa Grande Century Ride:

It is super convenient for me, pretty cheap, great support, and just having something out there will give me a reason to continue riding, despite the urge to crawl under an electric blanket.

I'm about 90% sure I'm going to sign up for the century. I'm going to try and do about 6 or more centuries next year so this will be helpful to kick the year off with.

Resurrecting this thread. 2nd race of the year, first to not end in a huge wreck. Finished in the lead pack, learned that I have a lot of work to do on my cornering confidence, my positioning in the field, and my sprinting. Still, fun race.

A "Strava activity", though not a ride...

More racing! This time a crit on a wet course with a light snow falling. Rule 5 at its finest. Stayed with my faster teammates until the last 200M, pretty happy about the way things went.

If only I had created Strava instead of this thread. Oh well.
