Well, just got back from my ride, just found out about GarminConnect a couple of days ago and think it would be pretty cool to actually take a look at the rides people are doing instead of just hearing about them. Plus, this will keep inflated BF numbers down to a minimum. So, I'll start. Let's see those rides.
Here is my effort from today. If the guy who rides a red Lemond and was on 175th street today is on here, sorry I didn't say anything. I was in a little zone and was all hunkered down out of the wind rocking out to one of my fav songs...

Nice ride kyakdiver. Bet it's pretty there. You did almost twice as much climbing as me in almost 10 less miles. Pretty sweet. I guess Kansas really is flat.

I think they did a great job when they upgraded Connect last week. Think I'm done with Strava.

Copperhed51.... I have some pretty great views during my training rides. Pretty much all rides are 75-100 feet per mile in every direction.

Had some time this evening to get a ride in after work. Finally a day where I didn't have brutal South winds.

Solo training ride up near my in-laws in Central Coast CA. Incredibly windy day - not sure if it is always that windy there or just my bad luck.

here's the last one I had uploaded before sending my 305 off for a "Chipset issue" RMA. Props to Garmin for handling, bummer it's broke.
this is a post work ride around town I do once a month as a TT/test... this is as fast as I've done it and it was a bit breezy out of the north. Still get dropped like a bad habit by the group on Saturday.

first half is a "fast to me" group ride and the second half of the ride is a slow cruise back to the start.

Warmup until your legs feel a bit open, no minimal time. Then, while seated with hands on the drops or aero bars, shift into super easy gear like 39x19/21. From a slow speed, accelerate to a maximum pedaling cadence for 30 seconds. Recover for a full minute.
Repeat for a total of 6 efforts. Ride steady for 15 minutes, then repeat.
See what that does for your top end cadence, outside of making you want to puke.

Here, try this once a week, for about 3 weeks:

A group sprint is rarely going to really be indicative of your max cadence ability. Chances are you're going to put out more power at 135 than you are at 175. But try that workout I gave you, and see what it does for your pedaling. If it doesn't get you into that 170 range (which really isn't THAT high), I'd be suprised. Once you get to that point, start experimenting with your sprinting cadence - you may find that you're going faster pedaling at 135 then you are at 170. I, for one, am not a great high cadence sprinter.

Wind screwed up the HRM for a while. Good ride though.
Have noticed the calorie count on the older edge units is way high, what's up with that?
