Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Still researching my upgrade

So I'm currently on a cannondale comfort and I'm looking to upgrade to a entry/decent road bike. My price point is trying to stay under $1000. I've been looking at things like Jamis Ventura Comp, Scott Speedster s40, Specialized Allez Sport, etc. which all have tiagra/sora and are all around 850~.

However,... my LBS has a used Klein which i think is a q pro xv. It has all ultegra components and is just overall sexy and is being sold for a flat $1000. This is at the top of my price range which i can deal with but I'm just wondering if it would be overkill for what I'm planning on doing which is commuting around 12miles both ways M-F and then going on longer rides, around 30miles or so, on weekends.

Any advice? Are the sora/tiagra bikes I mentioned good enough or should I go for the used Klein which the LBS guy says is the perfect size for me. Thanks!
