Anyone else have a GoPro Hero HD camera?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyone else have a GoPro Hero HD camera?

I just got one and am excited to take videos on cool decents. Anyone else have one of these? Do you use the bike mount or the included ones with the motorsports kit.

Friend of mine mounts his to his helmet for kayaking. I think you'll find that mounting it to your helmet results in less bouncing around.

I bought the moto version and have it mounted to my helmet using the curved mount... my helmet has a nice carbon arch directly across the top and it fits perfectly.

I just got back from a big cycling even called the Sea Otter Classic and a multitude of the best (for the most part) mainstream bike and component companies were in representation. GoPro was there (along with Contour and another) so I bought the bike mount bracket, but have yet to use it... I'll come back tomorrow and tell or show you whats up.

Side note: If you judge by display alone.. the GoPro people seem to be raking in the dough. Twelve, 50in+ 1080p HDTVs relaying Hero video was a bit more impressive than the ContourHD folks double TV setup... or worse - some other brand I couldn't even bother to remember that was having a Special going on for only $200...720p @ 30fps when GoPro was $250 for 1080p @30fps/720p @ 60fps!

The LBS that I work at has one as a Demo unit and it's fantastic, definitely the mounting the camera on your body/helmet will eliminate a shaky picture. Here is a quick vid we shot at the shop when we first brought it in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xHUb...layer_embedded

I went for the contour instead of the gopro, based on videos from a bunch of members here. I guess it doesn't handle wind noise as well, but it seems to mount better.

Yeah - the addition of lasers are helpful when centering and the GoPro blows ass in the looks dept. when helmet mounted, but both are apparently way better than the other competition in all areas including price.
