Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Rudy Projects Helmet sizing

Does their large run "large"?

I wear a large but some brands that I have tried on seem small in their Large size. Bell and Specialized; their large is fine. LAS and GIRO, their Large seems small or tight on my forehead.

Thanks for any help. Just trying to narrow a new helmet purchase down. No Rudy Dealers local and don't want to have to go back and forth with online ordering/returning.

They don't run large compared to other brands I've used, notably Giro and Specialized, but really shape is more important than "size". In other words it could be "large"in one dimension but tight in another. One thing I will say though is that the Kontact that I have has a really nice adjustable retention system so you should be able to dial it in pretty well.

+1 which Giro did you try? Some of theirs are more round, and some more oval than others, and this can make a pretty big difference in how it feels.

I had an Atmos that fit well. The Ionos didn't fit well.

In Rudy Project, I've had an Actyum, Kontact, and Kontact+ (pictured in Avatar)
