Gatorskins stole GP4000s girlfriend and took his lunch money.

Because they roll better then my 4000S.

And this is based upon what?

As near as I can tell Attack/Force and the GP4000S are virtually identical now that the Attack/Force have the black chili compound, except that an Attack is 22mm wide, a GP4000S is 23mm wide, and a Force is 24mm wide.

All 3 have 3 plies.

All 3 have 330 thread count.

All 3 have a vectran belt.

All 3 have the black chili tread compound.

Setting aside extremely small differences due to the 1mm size difference, I just can't see how there's going to be any meaningful difference in rolling resistence.

I think that way overstates it. Going from really cheap tires to really nice tires is likely to be a noticeable difference. IMHO, changing between competing brands of comparable tires in the same size (such as from one good race tire like a GP4000s to a PR3 for example) is going to be a very subtle if even perceptable difference.)

Thank you for the test results. They only confirm what I noticed going from the Turbo R tires which are old school stock but once considered to be "fast" and these Conti GP4000 tires blow them away. There is a noticeable difference in rolling resistance and puncture, well no flats yet. The old school Turbo R slicks however corner as well and roll in smoother I think.

Nice bike: conti gp4000s 23mm
Commuter: gatorskins 23mm
Touring Bike: Vittoria randonneur pro 32mm

Very noticeable differences between all of these tyres, but for high speeds and sharp corners I really like the gp4000s. I have been meaning to try out the Vittoria open corsa but they never seem to go on sale.
