Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Strange frame thought I would share with you guys.

Hey I've heard of aerodynamic advantages but jeesh the wind passes right through! ...How is this frame even possible?

Old.. truss frame I believe it is called? I think it's really ugly, wouldn't want one at all even if it's light and strong.

how do you clean it when crap inevitably gets stuck in all those enticing nooks and crannies?

Too expensive for me. $6000 frame? You could get a complete for a lot less that's just as good.

It's pretty heavy for a 6k frame right? Anyways I wouldn't care to buy one. I think it looks ugly, and you're right it would be so hard to clean. Sure it's unique, but it's still pretty ugly.

I hope our Chinese brothers will find a way to make this and sell it for $400. Not that I would buy it but having this as an option is always nice.

Cool Engineering specs ...

The photograph below illustrates the high strength-to-weight ratio that IsoTruss™ grid structures exhibit. These trusses have the ability to resist relatively high loads compared to their own weight. Here, four 8-node trusses all together weighing less than 1 lb. (.45 kg), support a reinforced concrete block weighing approximately 11,600 lb. (5262 kg).

A composite IsoTruss™ structure of equivalent strength weighs only 1/12th the weight of a steel structure. In other words, a 100 lb. (45.4 kg) steel pole could be replaced with a 9 lb. (4.1 kg) composite IsoTruss™ structure.

Delta 7 Arantix » Carbon fiber/Kevlar frame » Frame weight 2.6lbs (M)

Delta 7 Ascend » Carbon fiber/Kevlar frame » Frame weight 2.4lbs (56cm)
