Forte Pedals?

Anybody have experience with the Forte Carbon Pedals? I'm looking to buy pedals in the $100 range. I've looked at some of the Keo Sprint or Time RXS Speed and they look good but these look like they might be worth checking out. I know Forte is PB's house brand but have never used anything they make. Thoughts?

cheap bearing and short life span....no bargin...buy some name brand looks or shimano and they will outlast the Forte pedals x2 or x3

I actually asked the guys at performance about this a couple days ago (should I get the Forte Carbons or the Look Keo's?). They said the Forte pedals actually seem to work better with the Look cleats, but they basically said to go with whichever is cheaper, it wasn't a big difference.

i have both... the look's are worth every penny... but the forte carbons have been doing their thing... and i've had them for months now... so i dunno... i don't regret buying them....

there was a thread about these same pedals a couple of days ago... search...

I have 3 sets of fortes, but the metal ones not carbon. They are fine.

However I expect the look keo's are better, if you can cough up the extra coin I say go for the keos.

i just saw this right now... http://www.performancebike.com/bikes...1518500_400048

hmm... i might take my pedals back since they're like a month old and see if i can get these instead... i have to call them later today...

Thanks for the input, I'm thinking I'll stick with the Looks or Time...

I have Nashbar pedals. They've lasted a long time now without any service.

I've had three sets of Fortes, and they all sucked. Worked fine out of the box, but couldn't handle big stress well. The 2nd two pairs were warranty (I only ever paid for one set). Eventually I took the last set back for store credit.

I guess you'll be the guinea pig on the pedals and let us know how it went. I had some Forte spd's a while back and they were typical, nothing special.

I have had the best luck with the Keo Sprint pedals from Chain Reaction Cycles, usually around $85. I know it's France, but ...

I have some forte spds on my bike currently, and like everyone else said they are only okay. I am swapping them out for Look Keos soon.

Ribble has outstanding prices right now on keo 2 max pedals, if you order from there it is only a little more than the forte version. I have had both and find that the keo is definitely superior.

the R540 are cheaper most of they time and i don't think that there is any need for pedals much better than those

Forte anything hasn't been too satisfying for me. The tubes aren't the greatest and kind of steered me away from Forte anything. Like everyone says... they'll serve their purpose for the time being but just don't be surprised if the longevity isn't there.

Personally, I just picked up a set of Ultegra 6700. It was this or the Looks...
