Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: A dozen or so.

Funny, I saw that photo on Sacbee.com and thought about posting it here. I might hit the trail today in search of more poseurs.

You sound like the tool.

A professional team would never do a training ride on a MUP, so they must be poseurs.

Think about it - this is the perfect time in Sacramento to emulate a pro team, which is the poseur's raison d'etre.

Clearly. Seeing that I'm the one riding with a bunch of wannabe's on an MUP the kit of a team that I don't belong to.

Heh, talk about poseurs, but not on the MUP. I think it was Psimet, but could be wrong, if it wasn't him, he was there when the story was told at Penny Road Pub last year after one of our rides. Him, or whoever it was, was riding west of Chicago on a lonely country road. He then went to close a nostril and blow. At that time someone came around and said, "Hold your snot" or something like that, and it ended up being Christian Vande Velde. Thus far, I think I have been the only poseur on our local trails

I'm going to head out tomorrow and see if I can find some more of these "poseurs".

Haha why is it impossible for Rabobank to be riding on a MUP days before the Tour of California? Is there some UCI rule that Pro teams can't ride on MUPs? Sometimes the rampant cycling snobbery that takes over in here is kinda sad.

I'm troll sprayed. I can't troll this thread anymore. That means that I must go back to writing my last paper before graduation.

Photoshop fail on the troll spray pic. The wording doesn't wrap correctly around the shape of the can.

I love it. Is it really such a fine line between fred and the real deal that the racer-poseurs on this forum can't distinguish**********?

Yeah, probably someone in last year's Quick Step kit took the shot. I'm surprised the helmet mirror isn't in the frame.
