Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

used Specialized S-WORKS

Hi guys, I 'm planning on buying a used Specialized S-WORKS Gerolsteiner from an LBS but I have reservations about the age of the bike. They claim that the bike is an 2007 model. How can I know for sure?
Can anyone help?

good luck.

if the bike is being sold by a shop, you would think they looked it over and gave it the o.k. hopefully the price will reflect the age. if you think they are lying to you, you either need to start trusting people more or find a different lbs.

Take the serial number off of the bike and call Specialized. They should be able to confirm the age of the biike.

The Specialized site still has the 2007 catalogs:

How does Specialized handle warranties for second owners?

Since this is a used bike, but a shop is selling it, will the shop honor it?
