Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I usually carry about and 2oz for a 40 mile ride. I take a quick swig a few minutes before the ride, and try to get some 2-3 times in the ride.

It's not just a matter of making something that does the job. You get convenient packaging (for storage, transport, use, consistent portioning) as well as something that tastes decent. Earlier today, I ordered 2 boxes of gel. Shipping weight was almost 10 lbs. They'll get it to my house on Mon. I paid less than $50 including shipping. Not having to deal with that much mess is well worth what I paid IMO.

This is a valid argument.

"I don't have time" isn't.

I just put in an order at Hammer for a bottle of gel and some heed. I tried the 15% referral from several people on here but none of the numbers would work, so I ordered it anyway.

I hope the gel is as good as the GU Roctane gel. that stuff is totally awesome!!

I haven't heard of e-gel until this thread. Except for a couple of postings, it seems this company is relatively unknown. I was going to order from them, but with no very little e-gel commentary, perhaps I should stay with well known brands such as Hammer.
