Bike Rack Questions
I'll probably head out tomorrow morning to purchase one and had a few questions for the masses about bike racks. Due to my car and budget I'll be buying a trunk mounted rack and pretty much have it narrowed down to the king joe 2.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this rack, and if there are any accessories that I should consider buying for it. There is a trunk mount security strap that sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure if its actually useful or just a marketing gimmick. I was considering a lock, but it looks like Yakima doesn't make a lock for the trunk mount systems, so I'll just use a cable and a pad lock instead.
Note: I never plan on leaving bikes on the rack overnight or for extended periods of unattended time. The idea behind locking up the bikes was to prevent opportunistic theft when I stop to use the bathroom or grap a bite to eat.
So anyone have any experience with this rack? Should I save my money and get a super joe? Any creative locking ideas for trunk racks?

Real security for a trunk mount is problematic since anyone with a sharp knife can simply cut the straps. The steel reinforced strap looks like a good idea for short stops.
I picked up and installed a hidden hitch mount from etrailers.com and a hitch mount rack from Costco:
