Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Enjoy

umm, I was neither offended nor grouchy. I genuinely didn't (don't) get the point, and asked what it was....as if spewing a bunch of silly things ligget (or other has said) would suddenly make me recognize a guy I've never seen without his helmet.

Ever been to a baseball game or a boxing match? Stars of the sport are often introduced by a string of their nicknames. Its kind of a way to summarize their ability and accomplishments. I think dstrong was going for that kind of effect.

That's funny. Would that be considered doping in the 'velo' sense of the word?

BTW: Awesome pic. That must have been really cool.

Nah, he can't climb for the same reasons most other sprinters have trouble keeping up with the climbers.

Pardon my ignorance, I'm assuming by the conversation so far that one of those guys is Cavendish the pro racer?

Which one is which?

Yes, I'm serious . . . don't pay that much attention to that stuff.
