wtf u talking about a cigarette being shot out of a gun?

I'm n ot disagreeing with you neurosport, I tihnk you're one of the few geniuses left in the world who can spot such a huge potential design flaw. It's all a part of Giro's grand sceme to thin the herd of cyclists.
In fact, I'm so disturbed by this recent turn of events that I'm going to throw away my Ionos (which I bought because I'm mentally inferior to you) and wear a tin-foil helmet. |

did i really have to tell you that idiots are everywhere ? just look what is happening to the the world today. |
If you don't like the Ionos, buy something else. Giro will live on without you. Personally I love mine.

If you are convinced that Giro is aiming to kill you with its helmet design, just take the effing thing back and buy another brand, instead of blathering about some random tinfoil-hat garbage.

the prolight creates pressure on the back of my neck with the elastic strap. the s-works has these plastic brain slicing blades on the sides. atmos is OK but it is clearly not as nice as Ionos. :( |
I have looked at a lot of helmets and none of them have sharp edges anywhere near the the inside of the helmet. I even (unfortunately) live in the same area as you, and there are no shortage of helmets that I could buy if I had need of one. You are being too stupidly paranoid over the evil helmet companies trying to kill you with their helmet designs.

Since the OP pointed out that all of the helmets have a fatal flaw that could kill him, perhaps he should go helmet less.
|
Yeah, but then probably the taxpayer would be footing his medical bills if he didn't just die outright from a helmet-less crash.

my friend in college could throw a paper thin plastic metro card ( about 1/5 as thin as a credit card ) into a wall and it would stick in it. it would go in pretty deep too.

Well you have to remember here that this is a guy who thinks he generates more power than TdF pros, would break any normal pedal because of it, thinks that a cadence of 50 is too high and he needs a larger gear than a 53x11. Oh, and if he had the willpower, he would only ride 20 minutes a day at max sustained pace, because more than that is a waste.
|
Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill -- the substance being referenced is essentially just a layer of plastic paint to cover the bare foam along the front/bottom edge of the helmet. If you hit the pavement hard enough to be injured by a layer of paint, then you're a goner anyway.

my suggestion, cover everything in your apartment/house in cotton wool, better yet - tin foil. |

For all of those sceptics Neurosport is right. I had a crash on a descent in the Alps wearing an Ionos. It did much of its job protecting, but that piece of plastic cut straight into my forehead leaving a long, deep cut. If not for this I would have been able to continue the event I was doing (though I guess not crashing was the real key to that). I had to have 20 stitches in my head. In the impact the plastic separated from the 'foam', and has a sharp edge... The cut was deep enough to need several internal stitches before the outside was sealed. SO, please beware of helmets of this design. The Atmos does not have this cosmetic dressing.

See my new post below. He was right and I have the 20 stitch gash to prove it. Not nice. |
