Well... no riding for me for a while
I tripped and fell last night @ work. Immediate pain in the elbow, swelling and loss of mobility. Doc says it looks like I have a fractured elbow. Radiologist to make final say on it. So, I'm not gonna riding for a couple weeks, at least. Maybe more.
Sucks...
Sucks...

I know a guy that fell and shattered his elbow. Dozens of pieces. They went in and wired it all back together, like a wire net by the time they got done. Rehad sucked, but he has almost full use now. That, and my daughter being a gymnast has taught me to not put my arms out in a fall.

Well, like I said, it has taught me, whether or not I will apply what I know when the time comes is a different thing. I have seen girls fall off the equipment and pull their arms in, so I know it can be learned and applied. They fall a lot, so I guess it's practice.

Sorry to hear of your injury. I broke my wrist and hand last year after being hit by a car. I was in a long arm cast for eight weeks and a short arm cast for another 4 weeks followed by a wrist splint for another month. I spent the first two weeks on a trainer before I got back on the bike. Shifting was a little difficult because it was my right arm but I was soon able to do it fairly well. Towards the end of this process I did a 6 day bike tour of Northern WI. Luckily, I was friends with my surgeon who used fiberglass and would change the cast every week or two because it would begin to stink. I also would ride very early in the morning on back roads before the traffic began. Good luck and good riding.

Workers comp sucks arse but you may be entitled to some things you may not know about depending on how your state works. Look into mileage reimbursement to and from doctors visits and when your treatment is over you may be entitled to a permanency award too. it may get you some money for bike schwag.

I'm not going to miss any work, thankfully. And I do get paid my hourly for time spent at the doctor.

Confirmed.
It's FRACTURED. Now I gotta wait for the referral to an orthopedic. So, it looks like no cycling for me for several weeks.
I am so bummed right now...
