Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

cracked carbon frames

do you check your frame regularly? some of the pictures I see on here of cracks in a carbon frame look so small that I'm not sure I would notice them. would a crack in a carbon frame really be that big of a deal?

Depends how deep and wide the crack is. Also depends on the location of the crack.

If you know the history of the bike and know it's not been crashed, don't worry about it. If you are looking to buy a used carbon bike and it's cracked, keep moving on. The owner isn't likely to tell you if it's actually crashed, and carbon bikes can fail catastrophically. New carbon or no carbon.
