Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

5 days (weekdays) per 25 miles, alternative between flat/hill climing days.
On weekends I usually go surf, or if the waves are bad, just do a long ride (40-55 miler).

I am pretty happy with my routine, but I would like to incorporate some upper body workout during weekdays to help with surfing.

Yeah, be very carefull about mashing, you can get your knees screwed up

5-6 day a week 20-30mi average. Mashing can cause problems in th long run. This year I worked on my boss' mashing style and have gotten' him to spin. The biggest bounus for him is a major improvement in hill climbing, he now makes it to the top without walking the bike.
payment for couching/wrenching for my boss a DEAN stem for my bike. I got to love this man.

Cool. Do you have a special route you ride? Or do you ride till you get lost?

I was averaging 100-125 a week, but the last two weeks I haven't rode due to injuries to both hands doing another sport, so now I waiting for these to heal; I should be back on next week-I hope.

I'm a bike commuter. My commuting miles during the week are normally around 70 miles. I like to go out on the weekend for 50-100 miles.
