This is my new bike, which will be here ... eventually.

Choice D: other, please explain below.

C.

I dislike A because the tabs on the bottom breaks off too easily.

B. is probably too red.

C. matches the bike color scheme.

KiddSisko 08-03-10 04:56 PM

All are good choices (outside of possible bad design that can cause rattle), but I'm gonna go with B because it is a solid color, and will hide dirt better. That said, I recommend a white bottle because of the reflecting sunlight issue. Dark colors will absorb heat quicker.

Velo Vol 08-03-10 04:56 PM

As between those, choice C.

I really like my zipp ones, but they are expensive.

Velo Gator 08-03-10 04:56 PM

There's this one too, but I can't edit my poll...

Camelbak.

J/K.

A friend put the Cs on his white Prince last week. They look good.

Kingcage.com, either tubular stainless or tubular titanium. Classic styling, handmade in USA.

MCODave 08-03-10 05:07 PM

My $.02 is DON'T try to match the color. On a computer screen the reds may look spot-on, but in person there are about 10,000 shades of red. The chance that the shade on your frame and the shade on your cage are a perfect match aren't great. Trust me, I speak from experience - it was a happy day when I ditched the non-matching blue cages on my Gios for plain stainless ones.

For your bike? You can't go wrong with black, those carbon ones are nice if you have $$ to burn.

D. Specialized Rib Cage Pro.

Arundel.

After breaking two TacxTao cages and two Time carbon cages (tabs broke on bumpy downhills with the large bottles), these have been trouble free. Would have been cheaper to just start with the Arundels...

And, I love looking at them and using them. They're hawt, and work swimmingly. You won't regret it...

I bought a couple Tacx Juno cages on ebay, they were cheap and looked better than my old plain steel cages. Little did i know they wouldn't hold my Camelbak chill bottles so i just heated up the plastic and cut a line straight through it so they expand when the bottle is put in.

I like my Tacx Tao and that's what I voted for. I think I'd prefer all black on the Cervelo though.

Actually, C is looking good. I like that it matches the bike's them of mostly white with a touch of red. I'd get those cages iff the red matches the red on the bike.

rjones28 08-03-10 06:19 PM

I voted red, but I didn't know you were also considering the Arundel. I'd go with that.

Almost correct.

I would go with the black carbon but I do like choice A. I have white cages on another bike and they get dirty fast. I have a white Cervelo R3 with white saddle, white bar tap and black cages. Are you getting SRAM red?

No, Ultegra.

I think so. I gave SRAM a try, but decided Shimano is a better fit for me.

Terex 08-03-10 08:29 PM

I like A. As long as the white of the cage matches the white of the frame.

chasmm 08-03-10 09:01 PM

+ 1 on the Specialized Rib Cage Pro...for your bike as is, I'd go with the Black/Red cage. If you were to change the handlebar tape to red, then I'd go for the Red/Black cage.

My personal opinion...I'd stay away from white cages...just too much white on the bike...

B, but I also liked the red specialized cage. The red brings out the accents on the frame.
