I am eyeing that Allez, shame that the sport doesn't have the red color scheme from the low-end version. I find it much more attractive.
|
I love the colour scheme of the Roubaix SL3 Di2. Just change the logo lo a matte silver, and wow!
|
I love the black on black roubaix elite. Anyone know what the deal is with that huge cassette?
|
Yes!!

bump

Why did you show me this? Why? My new 2010 Allez is sitting in her cozy corner of the garage and suddenly, this new 2011 Allez rolls up and makes me look back! If there's one rule to buying a bike, it's to never look back!
|
Thanks ... have been looking for these links.
I want the Roubaix Elite!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I think I'm going to have a very tough decision to make next spring... Roubaix Compact, Synapse Carbon 3, Giant Defy Advanced.... Roubaix frame looks sweet, but the component group on the Synapse Carbon 3 is going to be very nice.

I am eyeing that Allez frameset. I was hoping for more color variety, though! |
MMMM, I'm digging the Tarmac Pro with the blue. Gonna have to sell my Comp to get it.
|
Nice that they've got the aluminum road frame listed for $550.00 . Several folks in our group ride that frame and seem to like it.

I got some spare parts laying around and should be enough for another Allez build up.
|
Yea I saw them working on their site last night. Christmas in August!
|
Also, the Allez build stops at Apex... Dunno how I feel about that. Guess I'll have to test ride one!
|
Get the Allez with APEX!
DO IT! |
|
So the Roubaix Elite has the SL3 frame and Ultegra and costs $3,600. The Roubaix Comp has the old frame and 105, and costs $2,600. Opinions on whether the upgrade to the Elite is worth it?
(It wouldn't take much to convince me to get the Elite, but I suspect the practical difference is small for the extra $1,000.) |

Somewhat basic question: I'm looking at the head tube length on the Roubaix (54cm). The head tube length is 165mm, but the specs also state "20mm cone spacer and 20mm spacers". Just to be clear, the 165 doesn't include those right? So that's 205mm total height if I don't get rid of some of that spacer stack?
Trying to do the math on stack and reach for the Tarmac/Roubaix to see what sort of bar drop I'd have. |
Wonder why they quit putting 105 on the Allez Models?

Attachment 166588!! NICE..ive been eyeing the specilized website for a while now..
2 days ago i got a 2011 Roubaix Elite...and let me tell you this machine is amazing!! super comfortable, acceleration is incredible, my good friend had to eat my dust last night. Its very intersting the dramatic difference between the big plate and the smaller one. the cassette is amazing, super low and SUPER HIGH. Havn't gone to a mountain but i tried using the 32 and the the 34 (front) and it was way to light! the i went down that same hill and put it on the toughest gear, it sped me down that hill like a rocket, i was torquing it and felt like it had a lot more to give me in speed.....so this was plesant and strange because i know this is by far the biggest cassette "oficially"marketed on a road group. plus the bike just turns heads all over! its so so sexy. |
