They sure seem to be forcing that Specialized crank on buyers. Most of the higher end complete bikes come with it.

Which is why it is nice that you can now by the frame with BB30 but without the crank ;)

Financially it doesn't make sense. I have little money and it is technically a college graduation gift, so upping the cost seems wrong.

2900 for the frame, you should be able to piece together a red/rival mix for ~1200 over that. stem and handlebar will be another 200 or so if you go aluminum (if you're budget, don't worry about carbon)--wait...

ultegra? sl3 doesn't have an ultegra option. you're talking about the comp compact? in that case, nevermind. *throws hands up* *storms out of thread*

why not tell the shop you're buying at to just swap in force in place of ultegra? it's worth asking

No one has mentioned the fact that their all SL2 frames either? Cmon guys, big picture!

I've mentioned it in the 10 other threads about the 2011 Specialized bikes. The Pro/Expert is actually an SL3 frame, the lower ones are all SL2.
