Finding jersey's that fit.
What's the difference between "race cut" and "club cut". I see this on some order forms.
I typically wearchest 35-37(SM) with a Pearl Izumi Slice jersey and a Specialized Avilian jersey. Fit really well, snug, no flappage, and the pockets are up my back a little bit so they don't flop when I sprint/climb. They both had the zipper pocket n the back too, nice for house/car key/ID, even safer sense of security for those items. I've got some Cannondale jersey's (MD) that fit in diameter good, but really sag in the bag and junk bounce around when out of the saddle, annoying. Local bike club doesn't even offer the 35-37 chest size... so that's not gonna work. Reminds me of REI, won't carry PI Bibs in Small size, so can't even buy from there when on sale and make use of discount *grumble*. PI Slice jerseys discontinued... Specialized is out of stock on everything... I had been wanting a couple more of something just to reduce the frequency of laundry... but then I shredded a pair of shorts and my slice jersey sliding against the pavement couple months back  /up-all-night-rant |

It's not euro sizing--that's something different--you can have euro size club cut or euro size race cut. Race-cut jerseys are much more form fitting than club cut. Look at any tdf or other pro race photos. These guys are all wearing race cut. Now look at around at most recreational riders you see -- they'll be mostly wearing club cut. You won't fit into race-cut unless you're pretty lean.

What he^ said.
I wear racecut jerseys because club cut is like a parachute on me. It really depends on your body type. |

So if I ordered a Hincapie, Race Cut, (SM) 35-37 for an upcoming event... I'm probably OK considering Specialized Avilian (SM) 35-37 "Men's FORM Fit is designed to fit snug, closely replicating jerseys worn by our pro racers." fits me spot on...? *Crossing fingers*...

i prefer race cut when i need to drope the hammer

does pearl izumi have the most moronic sizing ever?
do they think we are so stupid and self delusional that we would believe we are medium when every other item of clothing we have yells fat bastard? |

Hincapie sizing runs a little larger (wonder why...). I've been buying jersey's from euro manufacturers that sell an XS in race cut, and I find them to have the best fit.
|
I like my race cut voler jerseys. They fit me perfect.
By the way, check performance bike for the PI slice jerseys, I think they were on clearance for 39.99. |
jersey's?
|
I've seen some guys not wear a shirt......i call them show offs.....but i never thought it could be because they dont carry ther size.....
no?....ok, just a thought. |
Nevermind my last post, it's the PI select jerseys on sale.

Club cut means there is room in the jersey for the gut.

If youre looking for a really super snug fit you might want to check out the castelli aero race jersey.
Here's a review of them that I just read. Very tempting. |
