Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

yeah mate, your post will never be answered that way.
no link to the bike you want us to look at, no one in their right BF mind would go and look for it and answer you.
if it's like previous years' Madone, good solid bike made by Giant Bicycles. Absolutely nothing special about it, TCT Carbon, 105 group with Aluminium compact crankset and nominal road wheels.

Any bike is a good bike if:

it fits you
you can afford it
you will ride it

Set your budget. Go to the lbs's in your area. Ride everything you can and pick the one that is most comfortable. If there are two equally comfortable in your budget, pick the one that looks the best!

Enjoy!

Awesome bike, I just went through this myself, the most important thing I learned in my research is be careful of top tube length and reach.

Make sure your budget includes a couple hundred for apparel, equipment, and shoes.

^x2, also look into a good cycle computer, knowing mph, cadence and distance traveled on my bike definitely adds to the enjoyment for me.

Thanks for the replies , all are helpful. I am new to the forum i will add links with other questions. I know any bike is going to help since I'm on a hybrid right now. Just want to make the right choice for the money.

Wrong, if I'm going to nit-pick. If it doesn't fit you well, and it causes pain when riding, you will not ride it and that is not "helping". I'd rather be on a hybrid than the WRONG road bike! Seriously, I think there are just under 2,500 bikes in your price range. Do you want a race geometry or relaxed? CF, aluminum or steel. You may have thought through all of this but didn't make reference in your post. That is why I recommended you go to your LBS and talk to them...THEN RIDE A BUNCH OF BIKES. The only time I did this, the right bike was such a natural fit for me, I knew that was my bike. It was amazing.

Or, just go buy a CAAD9-5. Hey, someone was going to say it.....heck, people will be saying that here even when the new model coming out will be the CAAD34-12.

I would highly recommend you peruse the "Road Bike" section here. Read anything that says "Looking for my first bike", "Need a bike recommendation", "What bike should I buy"....anything like that. You will quickly be given a ton of stuff to think about, ask questions about, etc. If the Trek is what you decide, GREAT. If it's not right and you end up with something better for you, our job here is done!

Good luck.

Thanks I am really looking at all options not just the trek I heard it is a new model and just trying to get the feedback. Poking around the forum is already helping with my many many questions. The hybrid is nice for family biking but the components are sub standard for keeping up with the road bike pack. Thanks again for your reply.

This plus ride the bike a lot. Most people can ride a bike that is even relatively correct in size for a couple of miles without it bothering them I recommend doing over 5 miles at least and pushing towards 10 miles or more if you can. At a bike this level your LBS will be fine with this, or should be.
