Yeah I called all over Utah trying to find a shop with a 2012 model and size 54 - glad I found one. Something about the giant 10 on the top tube just doesn't sit well with me. Enjoy your 10-3! What color did you choose?

Trying to join the cult and get rid of my 2011 Allez frameset......The CAAD10 frameset is 450g LIGHTER than the Allez and that isn't including the extra 200g I would lose by switching from a Rival GXP crankset to a BB30 Force crankset.....

When I was ready to purchase mine, there were 0 blacks left in 56cm so I settled with White/Red. But at least its better than the 2013 paint colors/schemes!

I love the Zipp 101s! I was so close to ordering a custom set built with the new White Industries T11 hubs but decided to use the Kinlin XC-279 instead. It's just an everyday wheel for me and I can save the $500 extra I would have paid to go towards for nice deep race wheels.

While I don't think the FSA rings shift as well as Shimano, I wouldn't upgrade for the sake of upgrading personally. Especially over the winter and early spring you're better off riding with the crappy conditions coming up (sand, salt, water, etc) and then replacing something next spring rather than buying something new just for the sake of it and getting it mucked up over the winter. Nothing on that bike is going to hold you up performance wise.
Just my $.02
Gorgeous looking bike by the way. I love the grey accents.

Bikes: 2011 CAAD 10-5
New Cult Member here...
Hello all.
New CAADdict and new forum member as well. I've had my CAAD10-5 for two years now. I originally got back into cycling when decided to try my hand at triathlons last year. I ended up getting my CAAD because it was recommended that I get a road bike versus and tri-bike if it turned out that I hated triathlons (which I have grown to love). Anyways, forgive the aerobars and the FF seatpost but it's the only bike I have and it's done really well for me at the tri's I've been in. Especially love passing people on their expensive tri-bikes with my setup ;-).
Go easy on her. I love this bike!

IME, despite the 16/20 spoke configuration, the RS-10s are bullet-proof - and I weigh the same as you. They're a bit heavy at 1,850 grams or so, but I've ridden mine hard for almost 10,000 miles with no problems - and I've hit several potholes very hard. I've ridden them on some very long rides (longest was 230 miles), several very fast short rides, and have a sub-5-hour century with them. They've never even needed to be trued.
I have a friend who rides RS-10s. He's heavier than me and rides faster that I do - and he has 5,000 or so miles on his. Again - not a single problem.
And - they look pretty good.
I plan to update them soon - but that will be a 'want' rather than a 'need.'

The RS10s are nothing special but they are solid wheels. I'm 200lbs and rode them without issue. I did upgrade them after 6 months but that was mainly because I "wanted" new and lighter wheels and also wanted to try something different. The rear also became my trainer wheel as I was getting tired of switching tires. Not much changed. Bike got a bit lighter but I didn't get faster nor did the ride quality improve much. Biggest change there was a switch to the GP4000s tires.
As for the crank, leave it until you find it lacking in some way. Crank upgrades tend to be lower priority but sometimes you again just want something different.
If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, get some sweet zipp or ritchey matching bars, stem and seat post. Put zipp alloy stuff on my caad and looks cool and rides the same - i.e. awesome.
