Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Probably, someone on here recommended and I thought it was a great deal. If it was you, it was a great recommendation.

Yeah, I've got to agree with seymour, that's a beautiful looking bike.

Here's my new-build made-in-USA CAAD 9. Picked up the frameset (brand new) and built it up from there.

16.05lbs as it sits. And I wasn't even trying to get it that light, but I'm not complaining.

Specs:

Easton EC90 fork
Easton EC90 seatpost
Easton EC90 stem
Easton EA70 handlebar
SRAM Red 50/34 Crankset
SRAM Red rear der.
SRAM Force front der.
SRAM Force brifters
SRAM Force brakes
Shimano Ultegra 6700 Cassette/Chain
Cane Creek IS-8 headset
SRAM S30 AL Race wheelset
Bontrager 700x25 R2 tires
Bontrager Affinity RL seat

TKM....Great build my friend....can you get us a better pic sometime soon? Bike looks great but a nice outside pic would be better, valve stems at 6 oclock, cranks parallel to the ground...look forward to it. How does it ride?

Baj....I know this is the CAAD thread but any new additions to the Synapse?

Thanks for the compliments, guys, I really appreciate it (especially since its practically bone stock!). I actually have some stuff up for sale/trade in the marketplace forums, so if that stuff sells ill have some money to throw into some quick upgrades.

And Seymour, I found the post in which you suggested those cages. You recommended it to someone else, but I checked them out and thought they looked good!

your bike doesn't need anything, a lot better looking that most stock bikes...that being said nothing wrong with wanting to ad things. My bike is much older than yours. I have a CAAD7 but I love it to death and won't get rid of it. It has 9 speed comps. I have thought about upgrading it with that same Rival group that's on yours.

As for the cages, they are great, never lost a bottle, and as you know by now they are super light. Some people need a big name on their stuff but the plain black just looks good.

i am fine with the stock group (for now, may want to upgrade later) but I want to swap out for a more comfortable handlebar, and would like a better looking stem and seatpost. I like my Thomson post, but think I may want a little more setback. Some of my goals are just aesthetic, I think I chose a better quality bike to make sure I didnt need to actually upgrade a lot. Some things though, such as saddle and pedals, are going to be a little more important for me to upgrade.

And yeah, I really like the look of the cages compared to a lot of others. Don't see a reason to get anything more expensive at this point.

Why the hesitation? Got mine in 3 days, no issues. eBay has great buyer protection.
