Can anyone give me a quick rundown of differences as far as CAAD9 vs CAAD10?

Is it all 10's have bb30 and made overseas?

I've owned both, and the Soul Faith. When i get home i'll do a little write up in here about both. FWIW, i would choose the CAAD10 having owned all of them.

Some very slight changes. Tapered head tube which sounds nice but most of us won't really notice much. I've ridden my caad9 to just over 40mph so far and no stability issues. Also they changed the rear stays. The oval-ish seat stays on the 9 are now more round and straight but the chain stay adds their SAVE stay that they have on the synapse. 2010 caad 9 has the bb30 too so no change there I'm aware of. Other than that, I don't think there are many changes. I talked to one person who road one and said it didn't seem much different than the 9.

Nope....not trying to be a jerk but the frame isn't even close to the CAAD9 as far as design goes, they are vastly different.

Yep.

CAAD10 has thinner walls at targeted areas to save grams and they use tapered tubing as opposed to the CAAD9's more classic lines. Also, the CAAD10 is supposed to be more comfortable than the CAAD9.

Gorgeous!

Cool, but they are at least selling one? I didn't see it on their website so I wasn't sure. I won't be looking into purchasing for a few months anyways.

Yes, your local Cannondale dealer should be able to order one for you. I was told $899 for the frameset (frame, fork, headset). Unfortunately, it is not available in the anodized black version as a frameset only.

No offense taken, but care to be more specific. From Cannondale's website, the geo of the 9 and 10 is the same, and then there are the changes I mentioned. They do use a different AL - 6069 (10) vs 6061 (9) but I was told that was most likely due to the different equipment in the new shops. Tubes might be formed a bit differently, thinner like 2ndGen mentioned, but not sure that is a vast difference. As for ride, everything I've read and the people I've talked to who have ridden them say no real noticeable difference in ride - at least not that an average rider would notice. Incremental changes is the typical response, not vastly different.

What were the color options? The black w/ white accents also looks cool. The white with black or black with green, not so much.

If I remember correctly, white with black letters and red with white letters are the current options.

I did a short write up comparing the CAAD9 to the CAAD10 (based on my experience) a few pages back ... check it out.

The two bikes, next to each other, are different in other ways than mentioned above (seat stays, chain stays, tapered head tube). Some additional changes include:

-Top tube hour glass shaped/concave to provide additional knee clearance (good for the reduced q-factor when using the SISL cranks :thumb:)

-Curved fork with 45-rake and full carbon steer and drop outs standard

-Asymmetrical chain stays

-Larger done tube

I have finally ordered all the parts for my frame. Just waiting for them all to arrive before I finally get to ride it.

...and we have liftoff. Put my 2010 CAAD9-4 on layaway this morning. Got it down to $1500!!! They already had it marked down some and then gave me another 10% on top of that. I'll have it out by Spring. The wheel guy at the shop is sending me some quotes on wheel builds using Velocity Dyad rims. He recommended them over the Deep V for my application. Also recommended 36 spoke wheels. Any price differences will be in the hub.

Beaker 12-11-10 06:34 PM

Put another 51miles on my 10 today - longest ride to date (sadly) and it rocks. Like Crash mentioned in the other 10 thread, it rides very smoothly for an aluminum frame, but when the road gets steep, or you've gotta chase someone down it just responds. Digging this bike more and more.
