It desperately needs wheels. These wheels are so ****ty that you feel balance-wobble at 20mph, it starts to become somewhat of a liability above 25mph. They are also boat anchors, really bad, so they are getting replaced in the next couple of weeks. The wheel is so flimsy that I can almost make the CX tires on it touch the fork under hard braking from gyroscopic precession.
Its getting road rubber (28c Gatorskins) in the next couple days, just in time for a week of rain; Clement gravel rubber coming as well. The first gravel ride is 8/9, another on 8/16 as well. I've only ridden it once since I picked it up, lol. Hey, it's road bike season. This one will get some action when the weather turns sour and when the gravel calls, then I'll know if I "like it".

Local Craigslist ad for a CAAD10 - NOT MINE
This is the bike that needs no introduction! I have for sale a lightly used (about 5000 miles) CAAD10 in the classic BBQ paint finish. Outside of a few chips in the paint, this frame is in fantastic condition. It includes the frame, fork, derailleur hanger (with extras), seat clamp, head-set and a new cable guide under the bottom bracket. What it doesn't include is a conical spacer for the headset which you will need to source from your local dealer. I have knocked $25 off my original asking price to balance out this expense. In many cases, your local shop might even give you this for free.
(edit - the scratches you see in the pictures are on the seat-stays & the chain-stays NOT the top-tube.)
Now, for those of you that don't know about the CAAD10, let me take a second to tell you about this cult classic. The CAAD10 is the last bastion of aluminum road bikes, a frame so stiff and so light that it is coveted by even top level amateur bike racers. The CAAD10 is the last soldier, standing among the dead, defeated army of high performance aluminum road bikes. It waves it's **** in the air, firing it erratically, with wild eyes screaming "come at me bro" to the waves of carbon fiber frames bearing down upon it.
The CAAD10 doesn't need your praise, it doesn't want your accolades. It's the one-eyed, salty old sailor, sitting in the corner of the dive bar drinking rye whiskey with his 1000 yard stare. It only asks that you take it, build it and ride the **** out of it. It begs you to enter that crit and thread that needle through the pack. To go for that $20 prime, drooling on the top tube till your heart is close to explosion.
It whispers in your ear, "hey bud, see that gravel road over there with the watch for bears warning sign? Let's ride down that!" The CAAD10 was forged in the fires of Mordor. It was enginered by Ozzy Osbourne, Bernard Hinault and Jean-Claude Van Damme during a all night potato vodka fueled Kumite in the mid 80's. Finally, it was painted by Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol while a young and perplexed KBG operative by the name of Vladimir Putin watched on in awe.
The CAAD10 just doesn't give a ****, but it's not happy sitting in my living room. It's irritated and hostile not being put through it's paces. I'm truly worried that if I don't give this to a worthy rider who will give it purpose, it will kill me in my sleep.
Also, did I say it was matte-black too?

There is a guy in my area selling a 2011 10-4 and wants $1500 FIRM. It has been there for about eight months and he still is saying FIRM. It's as if he doesn't realise the 2015 models are right around the corner. Heck my LBS has the 2014 10-4 for just $150 more than he is asking for is 2011.

Now that you mention it, I think he is even wrong about the bike. I looked up the 2011 10-4 and it showed it in two colors, one was White/Blue and the other one was Black/White. The bike this guy has listed is Black....all black, but it has the same component group as the other two 10-4 models from that year. Did they make it in three colors in 2011?

sure that's not you Gary? I got a good laugh out of it. Peopla on CL are really funny and some are just not realistic when pricing their items.

Yeah his asking price is insane. He may get $900 for the bike. At this point I just want to know the deal with the bike. I still can't find any 10-4 models that came in the full Matte Black finish. I looked up the '11,'12,'13, and '14 models and none of them have it. Are you familiar with one that was all black. I posted a pic of the bike one page back.

The letters on that bike are white...the bike I'm talking about is ALL BLACK, the one I posted on page 340 of this thread.
I have researched and founf no 10-4 that ever came in solid black. I'm wondering if he built the bike up with the Rival/Force group.

I've had my CAAD10 for over a year now and just found this thread, so here's my baby!
Started out as spec'd:
Cannondale CAAD10 5 105
Shimano 105 shifters, derailleurs
Tektro brakes, FSA Gossamer BB30 cranks (these sucked, super heavy and not the smoothest BB)
Shimano RS10 wheels
Cannondale C3 alloy cockpit
Current spec:
Shimano Ultegra 6800 shifters, derailleurs, cranks, brakes, cables
Chainrings swapped from 50-34 to 52-36 and cassette from 12-26 to 11-28
PraxisWorks BB30-Shimano converter bottom bracket (this thing is awesome BTW, completely changes the dynamics of the bike in terms of snappy-ness)
ENVE compression plug just 'cuz
Custom-built HED Ardennes LT rims with DTSwiss 180 carbon ceramic hubs and Aerolite spokes (built by Arizona Cyclist in Tucson, AZ)
Stem swapped from 90-100mm, will possibly go to 110mm when I put a 3T Stealth cockpit on (Aeronova Team, ARXII Team, Stylus25 Team) although ENVE would be a great alternative
I've been happy with the stock Prologo Kappa Evo saddle, and have been using Look Keo2Max Carbon pedals.
Weight is 17.2lbs, it was 18 before the Ultegra swap
Also doubles as my TT bike with clip-ons, and have podiumed on that
She's not bad for a first road bike I'd say
