What are the widest tires I can fit on a CAAD 10 frame? Looking to make my old CAAD my new gravel bike |
Most I've heard of are 28s, depending on how much they expand to when inflated.

My 2017 CAAD Optimo Disc 105. I got it back in January and have only gotten a couple rides in due to a busy work schedule and horrible stormy weather on my days off. I have since put a set of Continental Contact Plus 32c tires on it. I had an issue with a pump that overinflated one of the original tires and the bike shop noticed something off about it and it was separating on the inside. So since I was thinking about eventually putting a bigger tire on it for the tow paths in my area I went ahead and did it then since I kind of needed a tire to ride home. But so far I am loving this bike. It is my first road bike and I am still getting used to the feel of it. I definitely don't have the same sense of stability on it as I did my old mountain bike especially when I am out of the saddle.

New (used) bicycle day!
I search through Craigslist EVERY day.... most days twice or more. Always looking for a bike that can use a little fixing up or is otherwise a great buy. A bike I'd enjoy.... not just wrenching on... but also owning riding. I found a 2015 CAAD 10, 105. In perfect condition (owner said 21 mile, and I believe him). I changed the pedals out to the brand/style I use, adjusted the saddle, and have (since the pic below) changed the water bottle cage and removed wheel reflectors. It rides great. Hey All,
New to the forum and new to CAAD. picked up an 2011 CAAD 10 105 in Red couple weeks ago after doing an endo on my 97 Silk Road 500 (CAD3?) The Silk is fine but the bars and rear wheel are toast. So, while hunting for a cheap bike online to get some donor parts from, I ran across a CAAD10. Quickly convinced the wife to let me shell out the $400 for it and now I've got a second road bike. No worries, I'm going to convert the Silk with it's amazing headshok to a gravel bike once I build up the cash for a new wheel set and drop bars. As for the CAAD, I'm in love with this bike! I love the ride and the responsive, lighter feel. It's awesome! Only minus is the lack of Granny gear and the increased vibration. Also a lot of my kit now clashes with the red Bike. LMAO |

My only issue for now is that it squeals a lot with the new pads (Kool Stop Dura 2) and a toe in. Maybe there is a break-in period with the new pads so I reached out to HED. Also, to save on the brake pads, I will use it sparingly. ;) |

Pump is Topeak Race Rocket. I would most likely replace the pedal because it breaks the overall color scheme but not anytime soon. |
:thumb: Nice, I don't think I could get my 56 that light unless I hit the lotto and got extreme weight weenie with it. I'm at 7500g including my kedge combo mount. I've got the micro rocket carbon, its light but difficult to get above 60-80psi.

super clean CAAD12, only thing I would do is mount the cadence sensor permanently with 3M tape so you don't have those ugly bands on the Si crankarms.

As a matter of fact, when they where tuning/installing it, the screw grazed the crank arm so I have a slight scratch in there. I know a few had issues with clearance as well and you may need to change to a shorter FD screw. You can only get this from SRAM through your LBS (or whoever you bought it from) but not you directly. Nothing different on the levers + brakes. Just run the cables and that's it.
