Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Here is my trusty steed, since 2009. It gave me 2400 crash-free miles, including five centuries. I finally found my Cannondale SystemSix1...so she is on eBay. One last shot in all her 15.9 pound splendor:

Not that I'm "not" liking that blue...but those bits would look AWESOME on a gray framed CAAD9!

Weight on your 9?

former CAAD ride

Used to ride this:

got me started. Had a great fit (lucky about that) and good road feel.
Anybody know what model it is? Aluminum. pre-owned in the mid-90s so an early 90s or late 80s model.

My current CAAD will be shown separately.

Final weight was 15.9 pounds with pedals. SystemSix w/ BB30 should be about a quarter to half pound lighter....

How could I forget my beloved Cult! Update:

I've gotten her to where I want her.
There's nothing else I can do to this bike for my needs.
The final upgrade was a set or KCNC Ti Skewers.
It's been a trying experience, it's been frustrating, it's been fun.

Final Cost: $3,500.
Weight: 15.65 lbs

I could go (and probably will) with a Yumeya chainring to bring back it's SL Crankset look and be better than the 7800 ring.
Wheels wise: Zipp 404's (at least) just to see what all the "aero" talk is about, but other than that, IMO, she's complete.

Build Basics:
Dura Ace 7800 & 7900 Pedals, Ultralight CNC Brakes, Ksyrium Elites, Conti GP4KS, K-Wing/Fi'zi:k Cockpit, Edge 1.0 Fork.

Better pic on the way.

Spookey,

I really like your color coordination.
You really know how to make it work.
I especially am fond of the pink CAAD.

Very nice indeed!

Why does Cannondale continue to offer the CAAD8 but not the 9? I like the 9 better (visually) over the 10.

Too expensive to build for the same price as the 10 which is supposedly better.
I too prefer the 9 out of all of them. One of the last classics.

I agree with the other statements made, the CAAD9 has much nicer lines than the CAAD10. The paint scheme on the '10s are nice, as are the oversized tubes, but the CAAD9 has the classic look. Simple yet elegant.
