Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thank goodness it's Friday. I thought this week would never end....

I plan to make full use of Saturday and Sunday, riding a solo century tomorrow, and riding with the guys on Sunday. It should be a great weekend.

What are your weekend plans?

I got up and ran a few miles this morning, and will do the same saturday and sunday. I don't have a road bike right now. Sold my old one to pay on the layaway for my new one. Another month, and I'll have it paid off. Just in time for winter.

I am planning a 2-3 hour ride for Saturday afternoon. No set route, just ambling around Oneida Lake.

Nothing too exciting.

Hell yes.

Been off the bike for 2 weeks, picking up a new baby tonight! Finally getting back in the saddle tomorrow. Can't wait to abuse the legs.

Have a good weekend guys.

Stuck puppysitting family's dogs. I'll still sneak out for a few shortish, 2-hour rides. It's probably best to taper a little in preparation for next weekend (Tour de Poway (century)) anyway.
Have fun!

I'd like to try and get in 40-50 miles tomorrow. Results will vary depending on health.

My plans probably won't involve riding. Have tickets to the Notre Dame/Stanford game which will take up all of my Saturday. On Sunday, I'm helping a friend move.

My weekend plans are as follows:

Saturday: besides cutting grass and other random house-related chores, I'll be fixing my neighbor's Mtn bike. He told me his bike was "broken" because it had a flat front tire. Turns out that the tire was so flat that the actual tire was wedged between the rim and the brake so it didn't turn at all. I told him I'd fix it, and I fixed the front tire and then realized that the rear wheel has some problems.....mainly that the skewer is bent and it makes this horrible clunking sound when it rolls. I straightened the skewer a little, and it got a little better, but it's still not good enough. I'll be trying to figure out how to deal with that. Not an emergency, because I suspect the bike is stolen.

Sunday: I'm riding my first century ever! I'm so anxious/excited/scared I don't know what to do with myself. I'm even kinda scared to go ride my bike because I don't want to hurt myself before attempting something of that magnitude.

Soccer tomorrow... Maybe apple picking...

Sunday, about 30 miles on the MTB with friends...

Monday, the wisdom teeth get yanked. Physical exertion can be resumed only after doctor approval... SUCKS...
