First Time Clipless Pedals/Shoes! Too Much Float???
Hey there! I finally got clipless pedals and shoes, HHOOORAAAY!!!! IT'S LIKE A WHOLE NEW WORLD!
They are Look (PP247) pedals with the red delta cleats...
and they have what seems like way too much float.
Some background: I've been riding fixed gear bicycles for almost an entire year nonstop and just made my transition BACK to a multi-geared road bike, with clipless pedals for the first time.
My smoothness in pedaling in a nice circle seems to have improved dramatically, and the float seems to be very dramatic for these red cleats. My heel seems like it's kicking outward during a part of the stroke!
Any websites or threads you can point me to angling the cleats properly? Or do you think I should go for the black (no float) cleats? Cause I feel like I might really like the no-float, but I am a newbie, so, I need your help!
THANKS A MILLION!

The red cleats made by Look do have the most amount of float, which is 9 degrees. I've been using the grey grip cleats which has 4.5 degrees of float. I'm considering trying the red cleats to maybe alleviate some knee pain, but it could also be an adjustment/fit issue, too.
I'd try using each cleat they make to see which works best for you. Look cleats can be had for around 20-30$ a piece and you can wear through them and then get a new pair or try them out for a few rides and give them away to someone else who use Look pedals as back ups. Just an idea.

Just an update. I tried the black (zero float) delta cleats. MUCH BETTER! I love them and recommend them if anyone else is in my boat in the future.

To the OP...they don't make that pedal anymore and while they make the cleats, still, it's been four years since Look went to the Keo so I'd buy a few sets of cleats because they won't make them forever.
