I bought a KK Road Machine without doing too much research. My LBS, which carries KK, suggested it or the Cycleops (which they don't carry). I wanted something quiet, for the sleeping baby, and sturdy enough to last for years. I think I've gotten a winner. It is, however, more noisy than I had anticipated. At slow speed, it's as quiet as a mouse, but when I'm cranking on it, it can be pretty loud. I'm sure comparatively speaking it is very quiet, but I had a delusion of a whisper quiet machine, which it is not.
Overall, I like it just fine. Bike goes on very quickly and tire is tight in seconds. Takes me about a minute and a half to get the bike on the trainer and start pedaling.
